After the move!
Here it is - September 6, 2008! Where has the time gone?
It seems only yesterday we were getting ready to sell our condo in Verdun. Now, all that is history.
On August 1, 2008 we bought our new house. It is actually quite old having been constructed in 1922. It is a lower duplex, that is there is another flat above us which is owned by the occupant. We have a half share of the basement and the upper has the other half - naturally!
We took occupancy on August 8, 2008 which allowed us to get the floors sanded and refinished, and most of the house painted before we moved in on August 14, 2008. We worked hard and the house is really quite comfortable.
The living room is large with an arch way through to the dining room. Both living and dining rooms have lovely French doors with frosted glass panes. There is a large nook in the hallway which we have made into our library. The hallway then leads past the bathroom and master bedroom to the kitchen and office (2nd bedroom).
We are in the process of having contractors come and give us quotes for finishing the basement with a second washroom and guest bedroom. The family room will also be there and will give plenty of space for the grand children when they come to visit.
Once I find the time to take some photos, I will do so and then add them to this post so that you can have a better picture of our home. (The pictures have been added - enjoy!)
We are off to the wedding of my best friend's eldest daughter this afternoon. That should be a wonderful time as we celebrate with family and friends.
More later,
Bill
