Stay at home tourist
My sister-in-law is visiting us and my wife and I are playing ''Stay at home tourist'' and seeing lots of sights and sounds of the city. We don't often get to some of these places. Playing ''tour guide'' gives us just the excuse we need.
We have used the Metro and bus systems extensively. As a matter of fact the BMW has come in quite handy. (For those of you wondering, we didn't make a purchase. We simply us Bus, Metro, and Walk!) Due to our age we are all entitled to reductions on admission fees as well as the Metro! It's kind of neat, in a way.
We have visited the 1976 Olympic installations, the Jean Talon and Atwater markets and other interesting places.
We even have managed to get in a visit to Ottawa and the Parliament buildings. We had great weather on Sunday afternoon on ''The Hill''. It rained the next day when we visited the Museum of Civilization! At least we were inside.
