Free at last!

Since my last entry much has happened at Hebron School! We have had R A I N ! for about 30 minutes. Actually there was hardly enough to wet the ground. Twice in the last week we have actually run out of water! As recently as two nights ago we had three (3) tanker trucks of water delivered and they stopped and pumped out the water right outside my bedroom window until midnight!
As I write it is thundering and there are a few rain drops falling. There is no need for an umbrella!

Last Saturday evening was the Student Council's Jazz Cafe. The theme was "Glacier" and there was cool drinks and lots of cool music. We had a great evening "chilling out" in the transformed Dining Room. One of the staff members sported a mauve jacket with bright pink bow-tie! The Staff Jazz group opened the evening!

The new Student Council Executive has taken over and the Prefects have been changed. All is in readiness for the next school year. Yesterday marked the last day of classes for the Standard 11's and Standard 12's. It was also the last day in School Uniform for,the 11's!

My Friday started early with a 6:00 A.M. departure for Coimbatore via the Kotagiri Road. This route is just as many twists and turns as the Coonoor route but much smoother and very much less travelled. While about 10 km. longer, it is a much more pleasant drive. It is still 3 hours to go down and another 3 hours to come up. A 6 hour trip for a 45 minute hospital visit. The first person I met was Nirmal, the Emergency Room nurse who was just finishing his shift. We were both able to greet one another before I headed inside to be greeted by one of the doctors with a "Good morning Mr. William." I was then ushered into an examination room and waited for the doctor. I didn't have long to,wait and the next thing I knew the bandage was removed, the back slab was taken off, the packing was removed, and I felt the cool of a pair of scissors as the dressing was cut off? I saw my ankle for the first tome in three (3) weeks. The skin is dry and quite swollen. The incisions seem to be healing nicely.

The physiotherapist arrived and quickly dressed my foot in an elastic tube-sock!  The next step was to get me walking on both feet with the walker. My right foot has a 30% body weight limit this week. Next week the limit increases to 40%.

On the return trip I was able to take a quick photo of a blanket seller in Coimbatore. I am not sure they really need blankets!

My next visit will be in 3 weeks time when X-rays will be taken and the weight increased.

Photos to be posted when I am able to download to the school system.

That's all for today.
