February 2011
Hello Everyone:
It's been quite some time since my last post about our vacation in October 2010.
It seems like such a long time ago. Much has happened since then.
After returning home in early November I was looking for something to occupy the time of day. I really wasn't looking for anything full-time or permanent.
Guess what? I was asked if I would take the leadership role in making sure various Christmas activities happened. It seems there were some challenges and my former employer thought I could get the job done!
It was a challenge. With the cooperation and assistance of a great staff we managed to do a Christmas Party for the sick children following the Santa Claus Parade. We had gifts for the children and their siblings. All the gifts had to be wrapped and labeled with the child's name and the names of the other family members.
Then we had the Kirkland Food Drive. Again a great team effort and 8 pallet loads of food found their way to the warehouse.
Then we had the Christmas Hampers all 1500 of them! The great team and lots of volunteers got the job done.
The Angel Tree was a success. Thanks go out to the person who played a huge role in the organization of this massive undertaking. Thanks, Francois! Thanks, too, to the dirvers who collected the toys from the various participants and to the participating companies and organizations who contributed the toys!
Well done everyone!
Retirement is once again my pleasure. There are several little ''jobs'' which i will be undertaking just to get me out of the house.
Stay tuned.
