L'Achigan Dining Room - May 28, 2010
I have just had an amazing revelation. My blog is called ''Bill In India'' and I haven't been there since December 2007. I wonder if I should change the name or would people be confused!
Obviously this post is from Canada and concerns my visit to the camp at Lac L'Achigan this afternoon.
The progress on the Dining Room is wonderful. By the time I left they workers were putting the last piece of metal roofing in place. This is actually quite some feat as the pieces are one long continuous sheet from bottom to top, or should I say from top to bottom. There are some finishing touches to be done around the ventilation towers.
The cement wall-board is being installed. Cement board was called for due to the proximity of the Staff Rec to the back of the Dining Room. The boards do not fit into each other like clap-board would.
The wood has been installed in the Dining Room and now needs to be stained and varnished. The Dining Room is quite bright and airy. It was very pleasant inside even though the outside temperature was nearly 30 C. The insulation in the roof is already paying off.
The flooring is almost completely installed in the kitchen. The Agroverre wall-board has been installed in the kitchen. this will be very easy to wipe down. The walk-in fridge is up and running. Real cool!
There are lots of finishing touches to be done before the first group of people arrive in 2 weeks time. I hope it will all go well.
More later.
