Lac L'Achigan update Feb. 14, 2010

I just have to keep you all up-to-date on the progress being made with the re-build of the Dining Room at camp.

The building code required new construction to be built on footings and foundations rather than pillars. Hence the concrete work. The footings are in, the foundation walls are in the back fill has been done.

A vapour barrier will be laid over the back fill and then a covering of 2 to 3 inches of sand will be added. This will prevent the vapour barrier from being damaged when people are in the crawl space under the kitchen, storage rooms and the dining room.

The contractor hopes to actually start with the wooden structure as early as Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010. The work schedule calls for the building to be completed by April 30, 2010. Only deficiencies and landscaping for May,.

So, here's hoping it will all work out.
