July 2009
Here we are at the end of another month. Where has the time gone.
If you have been following my facebook entries you are aware that time has been spent refinishing doors. Two wood doors had been painted by one of the previous owners of our home. The doors were taken off their hinges and taken outside. Several coats of stripper were necessary to get rid of the multiple layers of paint.
Hours, or so it seemed, of snading and then the doors were ready for the finishing coats of Varathane.
Both doors turned out to be beautiful wood doors. The bathroom door would appear to be oak. The basement cupboard doors seems to be cedar around the edges with a hard wood middle panel. Whatever it is, it has a beautiful grain to it and left natural is a wonderful color.
We had a brief visit last weekend from our married son with his wife and 2 children. they are coming back tomorrow to stay over for a few days. We did manage to visit them up at Music Camp last night and got in a couple of pictures which have been posted to facebook.
We are looking forward to them spending a few days with us so that we can get to know our grand children. Home for them is about 950 km. away. It is not a trip either we or they make very often.
Stayed tuned and see what August will bring.
