April, Oops, make that May update!

Where does the time go?

I just realized, now that May is almost over, that I haven't done the May update. Only to discover I haven't done the April update wither.

So, here goes - 2 months in one!

The highlight of April was a trip to Windsor to visit the grand kids. And what grand kids they are. Darcy was just a treat and Wesley took to us quite well as we hadn't seen him much. Darcy is doing well at school in the French immersion program So much so that she said the grace in French. This was the well-known Merci Seigneur ... grace - complete with well rolled ''R's''.

We did all the usual mall and outlet shopping as well as eating out. Auntie Stef joined us for the weekend and took plenty of picture which are already posted on her flickr site.

May has been productive around the house with getting the garden in shape. The mint is growing and we have had a beautiful pink rhododendron at the side of the back stairs. Much time and effort has gone into getting rid of the invasive ground cover which had been planted by the previous owner. Now that is over I am putting in some perennials which should make the job easier next year. Astilbe, bleeding heart, purpole bells etc.

When the sun is out in the morning it is quite comfortable on the back deck. The sun is required as we are only reaching a high of about 10 degrees - not really sunning weather.
